Special Requests

November 11, 2007

We always have customer's looking for items that are not readily available.  We haven't seen most of them come through on consignment for quite some time.   Our best guess is that people have these items in their basements, garages, attics, etc., and feel they are useless.  As the old say goes, "One man's trash is another man's treasure."

In an attempt to fill some of the needs, we started this page to see if we can locate some of these items.  Below is the list of items I currently know there is a demand for, and we can't seem to fill the need for.  Something here may jog your memory, and the weather is getting warmer to rummage around the garage or attic.

Windows 98 or Windows ME - Full, OEM, or Upgrade.  It doesn't matter if it is the original Windows 98 or the Second Edition.  These versions support USB, while Windows 95 doesn't.
8GB or larger hard drives.   A lot of people are looking for a bigger drive to put into a system that just won't handle the 20GB drives of today.
Notebook computers.  Pentium notebooks are in demand.
66MHz SDRAM DIMMs We are always looking for 66MHz SDRAM DIMMs in 32MB, 64MB, and 128MB sizes.
Adobe PageMaker 6.5 Apparently no special requirements, they just need one.
Hard Drives - IDE There are several people looking for 6GB to 8GB IDE hard drives.  There are also several people who will "settle" for anything over 2GB.
Video Adapters There is a need for 8Mb or greater video adapters, either PCI or AGP.

If you have can help fill one of these requests, or have a need for an items we don't ever seem to have in stock, drop Vickie an e-mail.   She is the one who coordinates the "wish list."
